Grace Missionaries:
Nathan and Kay Mizra
written April 4, 1965
Nathan Mirza, born in Iran - educated in India of nominal Christian parents,
studied the Bible as another textbook in school. In 1955 he found himself
enrolled at Cal Poly. Inter-Varsity witnessed and drew him into their
fellowship, and as a result he accepted Christ as his Savior. After graduation
in 1959 he joined the Navigators and took training in Long Beach and Glen Eyrie,
Colorado. While in Colorado he met Kay whose parents were missionaries in
South Africa. After serving in India and Lebanon, Nathan came back and married
Kay. The Mirzes are expecting their first baby in August. Now stationed in
Beirut, where he teaches Physical Education, Nathan is part of a team that is
making contact with University students. The following is an excerpt from a
recent letter:
"For three weeks in February and March the team will concentrate its efforts
on an international boarding center where one of our fellows, Bishara, lives.
There are 45 students there representing 14 countries and 11 religious groups.
Just from these figures you can see the potential involved - and perhaps the
problems. The phrase "Pray for us" may sound common place, but this is without
question our number one need. Our team keeps reminding itself that it is
"Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord" that any work
for God will be done."
All of us at Grace Church who knew Nathan have a special gem from the Bible
that he polished for us.
