Music is one of God’s good gifts to us that we can use to worship Him. The Scriptures abound in examples and instruction to praise and worship the Lord through song. Psalm 66:2 tells us to “Sing the glory of His name; give to Him glorious praise!” Music is that special gift of God that engages our hearts and minds as we seek to deepen our relationship with the Living God.
The music and worship ministry at GraceSLO exists to identify, train and nurture musicians who will use their talents skillfully and humbly to serve God’s purposes in and for and through the church. Secondly, we seek to equip the church in general musical knowledge that will enhance the use of music in glorifying God.
The music ministry at Grace is a diverse community of musicians who reflect our larger multi-generational church family. We seek to encourage musical growth in all who serve, whether one’s expertise and interest is in contemporary musical forms or more traditional, and we strive use the best of our musical heritage and the best of contemporary musical expression. Current opportunities for involvement include: Worship Team, Celebration Choir and Congregational Orchestra.
We value consistent devotion to God’s glory and the gospel, and active involvement in life at Grace and accountability to one another. We seek to increasingly exhibit characteristics of humility, servanthood, thankfulness, faithfulness, expressiveness and a pursuit of spiritual and musical growth.
