Our ministry exists to encourage and support the Sanctity of Life, a belief that ALL life is to be respected and protected from conception to natural death.

As our Lord commands, we honor people in every stage of life - from the preborn to the support for mothers who are faced with a challenging pregnancy, to those suffering from post-abortive issues, those with special needs, the elderly and the shut-in.

Join our Sanctity of Life Ministry and receive a newsletter displaying local ministry activities, pivotal information, and suggestions for book reading to further your own understanding of whole life issues.

HELPFUL PODCASTS

Freed from Shame to Love Others With Lisa Henry

When we receive God’s forgiveness, we are simultaneously freed from shame and freed to love and serve those around us. Lisa Henry has lived a life marked by God’s providential leading and orchestrating, even when she didn’t realize it. She shared how God brought her to faith, freed her from the shame of her abortion, and commissioned her to bring hope and help to moms and dads in need through the pregnancy resource center.

If this podcast resonates with you, and you would like to talk privately with someone that has been through this, please reach out to Sanctity of Life ministry team lead, Cindy Frauenheim (mcfrauen88@gmail.com) and she will connect you with a woman willing to share and listen. If you are a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy, or if in the past perhaps you have had an abortion, please know there is someone available to come alongside you and be a sounding board and a voice of grace and hope.

Suffering, Death, and Radical Human Dignity With Margaret Cottle

Human dignity doesn’t end when suffering begins—but today more than ever our culture peddles the lie that it’s better to choose death than to suffer. Jesus has something better for us. Christ calls us to love every image bearer with His committed, sacrificial, persevering, and selfless love—even when those we care for can contribute absolutely nothing. As a palliative care doctor of over 30 years, Dr. Margaret Cottle has both witnessed and practiced this Christlike love that dignifies every human being from beginning to end. She shares how Christ transforms our experience of suffering, grief, death, and sacrificial love. Listen to be encouraged and inspired by the robust, Christian understanding of human dignity and the glorious responsibility we have to humbly give and receive care.

The following are LOCAL outreach opportunities that reflect and encourage a whole life focus, belief, and purpose.

EMBRACE GRACE

We support the newest local chapter of Embrace Grace, soon to be meeting weekly at our 5Cities campus! Embrace Grace exists to help inspire and equip the church to love and encourage single and pregnant young women and their families. Women experiencing unexpected pregnancies receive practical, spiritual, and emotional support through our global support groups.

Through our message of love, we are helping women see that they can have their baby and their dreams too! Being pro-life is a stance, a belief system, a vote. And it’s important. But being pro-love is an action, the boots on the ground, the hands and feet of Jesus, the church. Together, we can make abortion unthinkable.

Tree Of Life

We support Tree of Life in its efforts to support women facing an unplanned pregnancy where they'll find caring help, hope, positive options and practical help from friendly and knowledgeable staff and volunteers. In addition, they provide Post Abortion counseling with a trained counselor.

The Giving Tree

An annual community outreach during the month of January - we determine personal needs and wishes of those affiliated with senior food programs (Meals on Wheels, Meals that Connect) and residents of living communities for adults with disabilities, and then offer our church family an opportunity to bless these individuals.

LIFELINE PREGNANCY CENTER

Located in Grover Beach, this life-giving facility is a safe haven for those with an unplanned or challenging pregnancy. Confidential and free pregnancy testing, physical/emotional/spiritual support through education and encouragement for women seeking guidance and hope during a pivotal time. Great opportunity to get involved as the team always welcomes community support.

Prayer Care Partners

We serve and interact to bring love, hope, and comfort through the Good News of the Scripture and life-giving prayer to the elderly and infirm in our Senior Living Communities.

40 Days for Life

The largest prayer ministry in the world, this international group gathers to pray for an end to abortion, the leading cause of death across the globe.

Joni Eareckson Tada and Nancy Guthrie discuss how Christians can pursue joy in suffering, pray for healing, and ultimately place their hope in eternity with Christ.

Book Recommendations

Pro-life Christians, take heart: the pro-life message can compete in the marketplace of ideas if Christians properly understand and articulate that message. In light of the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, too many Christians do not understand the essential truths of the pro-life position, making it difficult for them to articulate a biblical worldview on issues like abortion, cloning, and embryo research.

This second edition of The Case for Life, now with a substantial amount of additional and updated content, provides intellectual grounding for the pro-life convictions that most evangelicals hold. The debate turns on one key question: What is the unborn? In this timely book, author Scott Klusendorf teaches readers what the role of the pro-life Christian should be and how to lovingly and winsomely engage in questions and objections.

Tearing us Apart: How Abortion Harms Everything and Solves Nothing

Our fifty-year experiment with unlimited abortion has harmed everyone—even its most passionate proponents. Women, men, families, the law, politics, medicine, the media—and, of course, children (born and unborn)—have all been brutalized by the culture of death fostered by Roe v. Wade. Abortion hollows out marriage and the family. It undermines the rule of law and corrupts our political system. It turns healers into executioners and "women's health" into a euphemism for extermination. Ryan T. Anderson, a compelling and reasoned voice in our most contentious cultural debates, and the pro-life journalist Alexandra DeSanctis expose the false promises of the abortion movement and explain why it has made everything worse. Five decades after Roe, everyone has an opinion about abortion. But after reading Tearing Us Apart, no one will think about it in the same way.

In the book, Love Thy Body, by Nancy R. Pearcey, the contemporary worldview of “life” is exposed and discussed so that we, as believing Christians, can better understand who we are living life alongside, but also continue to work to protect human rights for all.

More and more people who are terminally ill are choosing assisted suicide. When is it Right to Die? offers a different path with alternatives of hope, compassion, and death with real dignity. Joni Eareckson Tada knows what it means to wrestle with this issue and to wish for a painless solution. For the last 50 years she has been confined to a wheelchair and struggled against her own paralysis.

Joni uses cutting-edge information and life experience in joining with a foremost bioethics expert to equip Christians for discerning the ethical and moral issues of biotechnology. With gripping passion she confronts the daunting scientific momentum of our culture regarding stem cell research, genetic engineering, designer babies, cloning, euthanasia and eugenics.

There are numerous myths about abortion. The Challenge of Abortion challenges those myths from a pro-life perspective. Part 1 features medical, scientific, social and philosophical arguments, while part 2 covers biblical and theological arguments.

There are many genuine concerns over the legalization of euthanasia. The Challenge of Euthanasia lists a number of them, dealing with medical, legal, social and scientific concerns. It then looks at biblical and theological issues related to euthanasia.
